Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson born to British lawyers Jacqueline Luesby & Chris Watson in Paris, France. At the age of five years old and moved to Oxfordshire and went to the Dragon School. From the age of six Emma realized she would like to become an actor and for some time she studied at the Oxford Branch of Stagecoach Theatre Arts a part-time theatre school where she studied singing dancing and acting. She had already performed in a variety of Stagecoach and school productions by the time she was 10 years old. When 1999 began, casting was announced in the production of Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2001) the movie adaptation of British author J.K. Rowling's bestselling novel. Emma was identified by casting agents thanks to Emma's Oxford theatre instructor. David Heyman informed Emma, Daniel Radcliffe, and Rupert Grint of their auditions after eight. They were chosen to play the three lead characters Hermione Gringer Harry Potter Ron Weasley. Emma's first appearance in a film was as a part of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone in the year 2001. It was also the biggest and most profitable film in the year 2001. The opening Saturday and Sunday sales were record-breaking. Reviewers praised the film, as did the acting performances of the three young stars. The Daily Telegraph, a frequently read British publication, gave Emma high marks for her outstanding performance. Later Emma was shortlisted for five awards for her role in the film.
